Idyllwild is located in the cool, clean air of the San Jacinto Mountains on Hwy 243, only two hours from Los Angeles or San Diego, one hour from Palm Springs or Palm Desert. Hwy 243 is accessible from Interstate 10 at Banning or off Hwy 74 from Hemet or Palm Desert. The festival is held amid the towering native pine and oak forest on the Idyllwild Arts campus.

From the Los Angeles area: Take Highway 10 east, past San Bernardino, through banning, to 8th Street exit. Turn Right and follow the signs to HWY 243 to Idyllwild. Turn right on Tollgate and follow to Festival parking.

From the South: Take Highway 15 north.  The first exit after the border patrol stop is 79 South. Take that and go right (east).  Stay on highway 79 for 18 miles.  At Aguanga take the 371 to Anza.  The sign says Palm Desert-Indio, too. Stay on the 371 for 21 miles and you will dead end into the 74.  Go left on the 74 west towards Hemet, NOT Palm Desert.  Go 13 miles to Mountain Center.  Take the 243 right to Idyllwild (about 5 miles).

Just after you round the bend into Idyllwild the first major street is Tollgate Road.  There's a sign that says Idyllwild Arts Campus and another for Camp Emerson.  Turn left on Tollgate (this left is extremely sharp - more than 90 degrees) and follow the signs to the Idyllwild Jazz In The Pines, 52500 Temecula Dr., Idyllwild, CA 92549.

From Orange County: Take Highway 91 easttbound toward Riverside.. Take Hwy 60 east toward Indio. Hwy 60 will merge with the 10 in Beaumont. Take Highway 10 east through Banning, to 8th Street exit. Turn Right and follow the signs to HWY 243 to Idyllwild. Turn right on Tollgate and follow to Festival parking.
